HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE !!!!! 
Our December field trip to the University of Arizona was a great success. So successful, in fact, that we
decided to have another field trip this month. After all, it gets dark early these days/nights.

This month, our field trip meeting will be led by Chris Monrad. He will take us on an educational tour of
sports lighting. And, are we fortunate. Chris led a tour of sports lighting in Tucson this past summer which
was most excellent. Due to communication "glitches" most SA-IDA members missed that tour. Therefore, it is
with great pleasure that I announce that he will lead us on another tour. Don't miss this tour and feel free to
brings friends. The sun sets about 5:30 PM so it should be getting dark as we begin our tour, a few minutes
later than usual: 5:45 PM.

EVENING OUTDOOR SPORTS LIGHTING TOUR OF TUCSON 

When: Wednesday, January 8th

Time: Meet at 5:45 PM - - - SHARP - - - (15 minutes later than usual) 

Where: Mehl Park - - - East soccer field parking lot 

Guided by Chris Monrad 

Details: Mehl Park is located a long block or so East of Dodge on River Rd. If you are coming from
Campbell, driving East on River Rd., pass Dodge (the Jewish Community Center is located there) and
continue driving East on River Rd. You will soon see a sign announcing Mehl Park on the right (South).
Shortly after the sign, turn right (South) into the park. Once in the Park, take a left (East) turn to the East
Soccer Field. We will meet in the parking lot for the EAST SOCCER FIELD at 5:45 PM. The tour will be by
car, but we will be getting out and walking at a few different locations to learn about sports lighting. The tour
should last about two hours. Then,afterwards, for the strong or the hungry, we will adjourn to a near-by eatery
for food and discussion (optional, of course).
