Excellence in out door lighting award to be given to St. Francis Church on Sunday, November 17th. The award will be given twice (at both their services) and we will have a display table in between their two services to promote good outdoor lighting .............etc....... 5. Next year's student science fair - - - Follow-up In the very near future, we need to notify as many students as possible that there will be prizes available for science projects that deal with light pollution and/or out-door lighting. Likely avenues are through school principals, teachers, etc. ............. 6. Follow-up regarding hardware stores (Home Depot, and others) 7. Creating a telephone "tree" for SA-IDA 8. Status of the sky brightness/darkness measuring device - - - hopefully, there has been some more progress this past month !!!! 9 Bad lighting complaints. We always have a couple of new ones to discuss !!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10. Planing for the December meeting: A field trip to the U. of Arizona and a snack or dinner after. Guide: Hy Kaplan. 11. Special Arizona license plates - - - update. Consider alternatives such as an IDA/SA-IDA/Arizona bumper sticker (or even a front license plate) etc......... 12. The possibility of a large publ! ic meeting/lecture here in Tucson, our own, or a joint meeting (for example with the Audubon Society) Note: the Audubon Society is interested in pursuing this !!!!! 13. Report from IDA: Tucson and the Pima County lighting legislation, Arizona State legislation, reports from Flagstaff and Phoenix area chapters, the current status of Billboards in Tucson/Pima County, and new news !!!!! 14. Media publicity for SA-IDA. The possibility of an hour-long radio show. Also, other radio and TV shows, Newspapers, TAAA, etc...... 15. Website improvements 16. Glare buster shields from GE. Also, the Bob Goff fund for light pollution. (Any more news from the Three Points area ???) 17. Revising our pamphlets with special attention to children's materials. This is a long agenda, but those items which we do not finish this month will be kept on "hold" for future meetings (not forgotten) !!!!!
