Starizona "Excellence in Outdoor Lighting" Award presented August 29, 2002
Starizona employees, Dark Sky members, and astronomers gather for the awards presentation
in the Starizona store at 5201 North Oracle Road, Tucson, AZ. All were very complimentary on a
great job which eliminated glare from flood lights for the entrance and parking area as well as
glare out onto Oracle Road.
John Polacheck, VP of the Southern Arizona Section of International Dark-Sky Association,
presents award to Dean Koenig, store owner.
Existing unshielded Flood Light Fixtures were replaced with fully shielded low light fixtures (shown above) which totally eliminated glare and light trespass.
